A year and a half ago, film director Pedros Temizian called me up to tell me that he wanted to direct a video for our first album’s bonus track Slutterhouse Blues; in which I will be impersonating a bag snatching zombie running around the streets of Beirut.
Here is the video again if you’ve never seen it:
Today, as I was surfing on the internet, I found this swimsuit collection by Iron Fist Clothing, and it’s only then that I came to realize how much this video played a major role in turning zombies into something sexy; regardless of the bad taste of these swimsuits.

Thanks to Slutterhouse and Pedros Temizian, zombies are now sexy.
PS: auto-derision is a virtue.

He dedicated his life to the sport of boxing and was always full of admiration for fighters. Today, his honorable fight against cancer came to an end.
I grew up watching bouts called by Nick Charles, one of the greatest boxing sportscasters who’ve ever lived. He finally showed the whole world that he too was a great warrior. Rest In Peace brave Sir.
Watch this emotional video shot at Nick’s house only a couple of weeks ago:

When I decided to include some covers in our live set, the first song that came to my mind was Andy McCoy’s “Strung Out”. When I was 18, I used to listen to this song up to 40 times a day, because it made me happy. The challenge was to turn the Finnish rock guitar player’s song into a Slutterhousy thing; you decide if we pulled it off or not!
In any case, we have performed this song 3 times so far with Slutterhouse, and each time we did, I couldn’t help but tearing sometime after the first chorus. That’s how much this song means to me.
Enjoy both versions below: Andy McCoy’s original version, recorded in 1995. And Slutterhouse’s own live version, in Beirut, last December 2010.
